{The details that matter}
NoteHand captures meeting audio and your microphone on your Mac. No meeting bot joins the call.
Let participants know before recording, whether you’re on a video call or meeting in person.
Transcription runs on your Mac. With a local model through Ollama, Coach and meeting notes run there too.
Choose this option when you want your meeting transcript processed locally.
If you choose OpenAI or Anthropic, NoteHand sends transcript text directly to that provider using your API key. NoteHand doesn’t send it the meeting audio.
The provider handles that text under its terms and your account settings, with separate usage charges.
Export your notes as editable Markdown files to a folder you choose. You can keep, share and back them up.
If that folder syncs to a cloud service, your chosen sync service handles those files. A shared or backed-up copy is separate from the one on your Mac.
No. Transcription runs on your Mac. If you choose OpenAI or Anthropic for Coach and notes, transcript text goes to that provider, not the meeting audio.
Yes. With a local model through Ollama, Coach and meeting notes are processed on your Mac. You don’t need to choose a cloud AI provider for those features.
Your transcript text is sent directly to your selected provider using your API key. Its handling is governed by that provider’s terms and your account settings. Provider usage charges are separate from the NoteHand purchase.
Your sync service may upload those files and make them available on other devices or to people with access to that folder. Local AI processing doesn’t prevent a sync service from syncing your exports.
No meeting bot joins the call. NoteHand captures audio on your Mac. Let the other participants know before recording.
Everything above is how NoteHand behaves. What we collect, why, how long we keep it and how to have it deleted is set out in full, in plain language, in the privacy policy.
Live coaching. Useful notes. Control over where they’re processed.
