Speak, then add the text to your work.
Turn dictation on in Settings › Dictation, then hold the shortcut, say what you want to write and release. In the App Store version, the recognised text is placed on the clipboard for you to paste with Command-V. The direct-download version, once released, can insert it into the app you are using after you grant the Accessibility permission.
Useful for the small things you would otherwise type: a follow-up after a client call, a reply in a team conversation, a paragraph or idea you want to get down quickly.

How it works.
Audio is processed on your Mac
NoteHand uses its local speech-recognition model for dictation. Dictated audio is processed in memory and discarded afterward; it is not written to disk. The text you paste is then handled by the app you put it into.
Choose a shortcut that suits you
The default is Option-Space; change it in Settings › Dictation if another app uses it. Hold to talk, or tap once to dictate hands-free until you tap again, up to five minutes.

Does it work in every app?
It works anywhere you can paste text. In the App Store version you paste with Command-V; in the direct-download version, automatic insertion needs the Accessibility permission.
Is the audio saved?
No. Dictated audio is processed in memory and discarded. It is not written to disk and is not sent anywhere.
What happens to my clipboard?
In the App Store version the recognised text stays on the clipboard so you can paste it. In the direct-download version, the app can restore your previous clipboard contents after inserting; that is a setting.
What if I switch windows while dictating?
The app keeps the text rather than pasting it somewhere unexpected, and the same happens for a password field. Click into the right field and choose Re-insert Last Dictation from the menu bar.
Does a call need to be running?
No. Dictation works independently of meeting recording.
